After shuttering its serving window last fall and moving her snow cone stand from the familiar location at the corner of Main and River Road, Sandi Norris’ Sno Biz stand is headed for a new opening in a new place.

The Historic Landmark Commission approved a certificate of appropriateness last week so that the icy-treat business may relocate to 128 W. Blanco, near Ye Kendall Inn. The little building’s exterior will boast a new historic “flavor” including gabled metal roof,

Victorian-style embellishments, and moss-green paint are all part of the new and approved design.

Sno Biz will open in about two weeks, Norris said.

“I’m excited. It’s been quite a process. But now we’re going to go full-steam ahead,” she said.

City Senior Planner Paul Barwick, said the tiny new business is designed to “also dovetail nicely” into the planned trail head that is currently being designed.

“I am sure when all the improvements are completed, this area will be a buzz of activity, including the bees who like snow cones too,” Barwick said.
